Tour around Anegada Island

The first part of the tour is a trip around Anegada Island itself taking in the local sights, which can include places such as The Settlement, which is the main town on the island and home to most of its residents. It’s up to you how you spend your time on Anegada, but it’s worth taking a trip around the island to take in the sights, and perhaps you may want to visit the Anegada Lighthouse or simply spend some time on the beach relaxing.

Visit the salt ponds of Anegada

The next stop on the Anegada boat tour is the salt ponds. These salt ponds are a unique feature of the island, providing a distinct contrast to the surrounding waters. Anegada’s salt ponds are home to a vibrant array of wildlife, but one species stands out from the rest - the flamingo. These birds are a sight to behold at the flamingo pond, with their bright pink feathers.

The reason the flamingos can be found in the salt ponds, is because they feed on the rich abundance of shrimp and other small crustaceans located in the area. The Caribbean Flamingo found here had actually died out completely due to hunting, but were introduced and are now living in the area successfully again.

Lunch at Anegada Beach Club

After a morning of exploring, it's time for a lunch break at Anegada Beach Club. Here, you can order a variety of delicious local dishes, all while enjoying the views of the Caribbean Sea.

Visiting the Iguana Sanctuary in Anegada

After lunch we take a mooring and visit the Iguana Sanctuary. This is another unique experience that the island of Anegada offers. The sanctuary was set up by the National Park Trust (NPT) and is home to the endangered Anegada Rock Iguana. The sanctuary is dedicated to the conservation of these reptiles. The goal of the sanctuary is to help re-introduce young iguana back into the wild.

Loblolly Beach in Anegada

If you're looking for the perfect place to relax and unwind, look no further than Loblolly Beach in Anegada. This beach in Loblolly Bay is known for its white sand and crystal-clear waters. Bask in the sun, take a refreshing dip in the sea, or simply enjoy the views. Loblolly Beach is also a great place for snorkeling.
